Duralex Prisme Temp Glass Tumbler 220ml

New Yorkers pertinently know that their subway system is as clear as a confusing labyrinth, but it’s also a magical place, conductive to unexpected, beautiful encounters.

In their subway you’ll never feel lonely, nor alienated, thanks to the extraordinary diversity of people coming from so many horizons. Duralex® Prisme tried to recreate this heart-warming atmosphere, with its print that reminds us of the tiles of the New York subway, for a cosmopolitan and trendy usage.

Prisme got its inspiration from after the war, in the 50s, when modern and iconic mosaics on the floors and walls enabled to have meticulous and fashionable insides. This explains just how its quirky design and sweet connotations will melt your heart!

Its design allows an interesting game of lights, as its facets mimic a disco ball that reflects the light and adds depth to your drinks. Adding a candle inside this glass will illuminate the room it is in!

Since 1945, Duralex® has been a pioneer in tempered glass technology, a process in which we are the industry leader. Our factory in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin was the first in the world to produce tempered glass tableware. Through constant investment and commitment to quality, Duralex® has achieved a level of excellence that drives the brand’s success around the world. Our company is indisputably recognised as the leader in tempered glass.

What makes Duralex® glass so strong is the tempering process. It consists of rapid ventilation cooling of the entire glass product, which has been previously heated to a temperature of approximately 700°C. This treatment creates controlled stresses in the glass that improve most of its physical qualities: resistance to mechanical stress and thermal shock (sudden temperature change). This makes Duralex® glass at least 3.5 times more resistant to mechanical stress than an annealed (standard) glass product. It is resistant to thermal shock of at least 130°C.
