Irena Istanbul Crystal Glass Plate Light Blue 35cm

The factory, IRENA HOLDING GROUP SP. z o. o., was reportedly built in 1924 in Inowrocław. The production of domestic and gallery glass began in 1927. Henryk Podkomorski became the owner and introduced the name “Irena.” He remained in charge until 1939. During this period, the factory expanded significantly, offering around 3,000 products, including dishware and gallery glass made from white or colored materials, cut and liquor bottles, jars, lighting glass (for gas and kerosene lamps), as well as perfume, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and technical accumulator glass.

One of the company’s specialties was the production of jars for domestic use, including the original “Weck” glasses under license, along with “Irena” glassware.

Over the years, Irena gradually shifted its focus from packaging and lighting glass to household glassware and crystal, aiming to deliver high-quality products in both modern and classic designs—beautifully crafted, durable, and affordably priced for diverse lifestyles.
